Shasta Charter Academy Advisory School Board
As an independent charter school, SCA has its own School Board, which has been authorized by Shasta Union High School District. Public meetings are held throughout the school year and the public is invited to attend the meetings and learn more about how the school operates.

Don Hess recently became a member of the Board at SCA. He retired in mid 2019 from Kaiser Permanente in Rancho Cordova, CA as a medical physicist. He and his wife Susan moved back to Shasta County in 2020 where she has 3 brothers living in the area. Don was referred to the Board by Matt Wahlman. Don is an avid woodcutter, car and motorcycle enthusiast. Don and his wife Susan live on 2 acres in Anderson with a big puppy - 88 lbs - and 3 cats with her horse stabled nearby.

Carlie Hinderscheid has been a member of the Advisory Board for a short time, but as a former student of Shasta Charter Academy, has seen first hand the excellent effect the school has influenced on our youth. She works in health care and is a mother of two athletic kids who attend an elementary
grade charter school. In her free time she loves to travel, sing, read, and keeps busy cheering on both kids during all their sporting events.
